Hey babe, I'm Lucia!

Big believer in chasing your dreams & living everyday like it’s your last.
A typical work day for me consists of having  iced coffee with lots of creamer in it, along with my agenda planning my life out for the whole year & that's a fact; you can ask the fam!

Hello! My name is Lucia Argueta and I am a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania based photographer! I was born and raised in Milan, Italy for half of my life and immigrated to the United States where I live now.
It all started when I was in my junior year of college, I just transferred to the University of Mary Washington & you know what? I had absolutely NO idea what I wanted to major in. Deep in my heart I just knew what I wanted to do, but I was too scared of being judged & fail at it. After lots of talking with friends & family, somehow it felt like I just needed to embrace what I loved…
So I DID IT. I went for it, bought my first professional camera & lens. I'm so glad I did because I don't regret it one bit!!!
I did photography part time while having another part time job & doing school full time for 2 years. A degree later… Here we are doing photography full time! I will forever be grateful to be able to pursue my passion! I’ve truly loved each & every one of the shoots behind my lens but I’ve got to say that learning who my clients are is absolutely my favorite part of what I do.
A little more about me
I've lived in Fredericksburg, VA from 12 years old until I was 24 years old to go live in the big city- Philly! Why did I choose Philly? I visited for the first time about 2 years ago, when I stepped into the city it reminded me of home, & that feeling of wanting to come back never left. I've always pictured myself going back to live in a city, I wanted a challenge, to grow by myself, by being far from home but not too far (I'm such a family person so a baby step like this was perfect).
I'm convinced there's no "right" time for something you're wanting to do, sometimes you just have to go for it! Life is too short, & I don't want to waste it.
Beside being a photographer, I am a friend, daughter & sister. In my free time I value making plans with the people I love, I can tell you with confidence my love language is quality time- when I'm spending time with someone, I make sure to be present!
Oh and I am a huge extrovert, if you need to bring someone to an event I am your person. I have to communicate throughout the whole process as a photographer, but the part I cherish the most is when I'm able to interact with my clients in person!
I do enjoy my alone time too though, I like to:
1. read books, specifically self-help books! I want to be the best version of myself
2. try new recipes, I used to not cook at all but it's pretty fun
 3. going to the gym, being healthy is major for me
4. going on walks outside, it's good to get some vitamin D & I could see an event that's happening!
5. watch my favorite shows or movies, I've been into reality tv shows & comedy movies
6. watching sunrise/sunset or stargazing, I like not knowing what the night will show
I was very blessed growing up by having the opportunity to travel; naturally I enjoy seeing different cultures, architectures, art & try new foods (I'm a huge foodie). As the saying goes "the world is your oyster" each country, state is unique & I want to make sure I see the most I can! A disposable/polaroid on trips is a MUST, I love that film look for fun little memories. Iceland is #1 on the bucket list, the scenery looks breathtaking through photos, I must look in person!
