WOAH was this a long awaited trip. I bought tickets for my sister (Stefania) & I back in November & I surprised her with them for Christmas- she had NO idea so that was a success in my eyes! But to be honest with you, France was also a present to myself... I took French throughout high school & I've always wanted to speak it fluently & live there ever since I was a little girl. I felt like I was in a dream. The day finally came & we flew over to France, after a 7 hour plane ride we were in Paris! I wanted to walk through each day realistically how we spent it, but I'll say this: the time we were there for was NOT enough! Brace yourself, this blog is the easily the longest I've done but I'm so happy about it!!
Day 1: Since we flew overnight we were feeling pretty tired, we took it easy on ourselves & explored the neighborhood a bit! We ended up doing grocery shopping too & that was one of the highlights for sure since there was a lot of stuff I recognized from Italy- home sweet home right?!
Day 2: Now we're going to get into the good stuff. Stefania & I used public transportation for everywhere that we went, everything went smoothly & it was pretty easy to get around! So we woke up early morning to go to the Louvre Museum, to then explore the garden, got some food, walked to the Pont De Arts & watched the sunset from our Airbnb!
Day 3: We slept in just a little this morning so of course I had to get myself a snack! Stefania & I took the train to get to Versailles, time in there was NOT enough, you would need days to explore everything. It was such a cool experience, we were able to listen to a little set the history of each room- & WOW the art was so beautiful! I took the opportunity to take some photos. We also walked over to the gardens, let me tell ya... I definitely got some exercise in that day haha. Before we knew it was already getting late so we ended up going to do a little bit of damage at the Printemps mall... the inside was incredible, easily one of the most beautiful malls I've seen so far!!
Day 4: On this day we just had to get some pastries & do some grocery shopping because it was SO GOOD, I really enjoyed going since I could get some snacks that we don't have in the U.S! Our mission today was to see the Eiffel Tower. Firstly we went to see the Arc De Triomphe to then walkover to the Tour Eiffel & it was a walk but SO worth it! We somehow watched someone getting proposed to in front of it, were able to get on a boat ride at night & saw the Tour Eiffel lit up at night. It was such a unforgettable night... It reminded me how much I loved traveling!
Day 5: Woah, before we knew it was already the last day we were going to be in France. It felt like unreal to be there in the best possible way! We chose to take it easy upon ourselves, we did walk a lot & always woke up super early everyday... Stefania knew that I wanted to have hot chocolate while we were in Europe (I promise you, it is SO different than the one in the U.S) so she surprised me to this beautiful brunch place Angelina! It was delicious & SO glamorous, I loved it!! Afterwards we went to the Square Jehan Rictus & hiked up to the Sacre-Coeur Basilica...It was so worth it doing it although it was poring rain for a while! We ended the trip by going to the Mariage Freres, Stefania LOVES tea & this place had hundreds & hundreds of flavors. We had a homemade meal for dinner, I was looking forward to it because Stefania has amazing cooking skills! The next day we had to come back home, I'm so glad I was able to create all these memories with my sister!!
Thank you for coming along with Stefania & I on this journey! I hope you enjoyed it & that it may inspire you to travel the world!
