Stefania & I clearly love taking trips together! I took us to California this time where I haven't been myself either: Los Angeles! I missed the West Coast a lot, it feels like it's been forever although it's been 2 years since I've visited... I love having an excuse to travel.
DAY 1: The flight didn't go as smoothly as we hoped, so we ended up getting there a couple hours later than we expected. We were so excited to get there and spend quality time together! First thing we did is check in of course, Stefania was in charge of picking the hotel (The Godfrey) because she's the best at it and she did not disappoint with it- super pretty on the inside and the location was great for Hollywood. We had a reservation for Cento, we weren't too hungry, so we shared the food and wow, it was spectacular! It was different than the "usual", I like adventuring with foods. Ended the night with Urban Light, since it was pretty late at night, there wasn't too many people, so we felt relaxed. We were just so giggly the whole day, it set the tone for the rest of trip for sure!
DAY 2: Here we go! Starting off with a cup of coffee of course and were ready to go onto the next adventure: Santa Monica. Loved that place, something about being able to walk around everywhere just feels right to me, I also don't go to the gym when I'm on vacation so getting my exercise in any kind of form is something I always enjoy. Since we were on the boardwalk, we figured we should try the foods from there! We got hot dogs, Mexican corn (been reallllly into it lately) & a huge cup of fruit- SO refreshing. We enjoyed our scenic walk to get some acai bowls (Ubatuba Acai), how could I not get that when I'm somewhere warm?! We went back to the beach by scooter... I was focused not to fall off lol. After sunset photos we were ready to unwind, so we went with the McDonalds route for dinner.
DAY 3: The best way to start your day is to get Phillz Coffee, I've obsessed with this coffee ever since I tried it with Jess 2 years ago. I wish we had one in the DMV/PA or anywhere close to me! We walked to Hollywood, saw lots of stars, but the star of the show was Marilyn Monroe in my eyes. Stefi had In N Out for the first time! I'm personally not a fan, but it's a must if you're visiting on the west coast. There was so much to see there, one of the things that caught my eyes was the La La land piece- I LOVE that movie, I've watched it numerous times, but I'll never get tired of it! We were pretty parched, so we went back to the Hotel to get a drink and change to make it to our reservation to Casa Madera. That was an experience in itself, pictures don't do it justice to how pretty it is! The food was to die for, and I loved the experience of getting the food!
DAY 3: We may have walked a lot during the first 2 days but boy... This day was the day we walked the most- we even did an unexpected hike! We started our morning by going to Lavo Ristorante for brunch, I was feeling the sweets that day, so I had orange juice, a croissant and pancakes! Meanwhile Stefania had a delicious pasta. The place on the inside was super picturesque, I'm a sucker for a good photo. We adventured into Melrose, to going back to our hotel because we were going to go see the iconic Hollywood sign! Although it was hot, the hike was worth the view, 100% would do it again. The last place is so close to my heart... The Griffith Observatory. As I've mentioned earlier, I love the movie La La Land, there's this particular scene that took place here, and I've dreamed of seeing it myself, I finally did! I couldn't be happier I got to check that off my list!
Last day- quick little lunch before we left and gave ourselves some time to actually relax! There's a reason we chose this place though...Stefania wanted to try this place (Pasta Sisters) for YEARS, and since it was her first time in California, I needed to make sure my big sister got everything she wanted! MWUAH MWUAH thank you for reliving this trip with me!
