I bought tickets for Stefania & I back in November as a surprise trip for her! She had mentioned wanting to be laying on the beach and enjoy the ocean, so I had to step up & make that happen for her (but I also needed an excuse to be at the beach lol). January rolled around, it was time for us to escape the cold in VA & get that sunshine on our skin! We got there at around 8:00pm which gave us some time to eat dinner, we settled on a taco restaurant and it was one of the best decisions we made! After that, we relaxed for the rest of the night & went to sleep so we could get into the ocean in the morning.
The next day we went on a stroll to get an açaí bowl at Under the Mango Tree (yes, my FAVVVVV) & to get familiar with the area. We are very much girls who love to getting to where we need to be with a walk, you don't get to see everything you can when you're in an uber. The beach wasn't far at all, so we headed over to South Beach & stayed there for a couple of hours being in the moment. Once we went back to our airbnb to shower, we went to Design District to shop around a bit & to admire the many things to look at. Got some dinner at this cute little place (Pura Vida) & checked out Midtown to grab a few drinks!
Beach time againnnnn, believe it or not I never saw a jelly fish in real life until this day- I didn't get stung though thank goodness! Afterwards we dressed our best because our plan was to eat at the Versace Mansion which I have to say- truly gave us the best experience you could think of, from the service to the food! Stefania was finally able to blow her candles so I was more than happy! As you know, we like to explore by walking in the city, changed to a more casual outfit (very necessary since we were both wearing heels) & headed to Monty's Sunset which was suggested to us the day prior. After a drink & listening to live music, we were hungry for some authentic Italian dinner. The owner was awesome, meeting other Italian people around the world is so cool! The food was delicious & it made us feel at home.  Ending the night with gelato at Mammamia was a good decision (gotta love dessert!)
On our last day we were able to get some breakfast at Rosetta, more Italian food! Maybe I need to move there because your girl is MISSING that goodness! Before we left we wanted to soak in some more minutes in the ocean... This felt very peaceful. I was ready to be home, but this experience was really cool to me! I had never seen a mix of Hispanic & Italian culture in a city, it felt like a new home to me since those 2 cultures are who I am but all of in the U.S. I'd definitely like to go again... I love traveling!
Thank you for joining us on this trips through this blog- I hope this inspires you to travel!
